Zones is certified as a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) under the guidelines of the National Minority Supplier Development Council, Inc. (NMSDC) and is also a certified Corporate Plus™ member of the NMSDC. Zones was originally certified as an MBE by the Northwest Minority Supplier Development Council (Northwest MSDC).

Our Corporate Plus certification honors and recognizes our commitment to excellence and our national-level fulfillment and service capabilities; it's awarded to minority-business enterprises that have a proven ability to fulfill contracts for major corporations in an exemplary manner. The Corporate Plus program brings companies to the attention of all National Corporate Members and helps expand their participation in the NMSDC Network. National Corporate Plus Members provide additional opportunities to other MBEs through continued development of their own internal minority-business development programs.

As a certified MBE, we offer businesses with diversity initiatives the opportunity to competitively procure IT products, services and solutions from a nationally trusted, reliable, single-source provider. Our clients are then able to record those transactions as Tier 1 minority spend.

In 2009, Zones was honored to receive the Northwest MSDC MBE-to-MBE Inclusion award for our support of MBE suppliers. We will continue to grow our diverse vendor base and provide Tier 2 reporting upon request.

Zones Founder and CEO, Firoz Lalji

Of Asian-Indian heritage, born and raised in Uganda, Firoz Lalji immigrated to England and earned a degree in economics at the London School of Economics in 1969. In 1986, Firoz co-founded Zones, which began as a national-level catalog reseller of IT products and services. In 1998, Lalji became President and CEO, leading the company through rapid growth and evolution to become an award-winning, world-class IT solutions supplier – with a strong focus on IT lifecycle management – within the businesses-to-business market and public-sector organizations. Today, Firoz Lalji is Zones' Chairman of the Board and CEO.
