The I/O modules go into the top slot of the Cisco ASA 5585-X chassis. The Cisco ASA 5585-X divider divides the top slot into two half-slots, and each I/O module occupies one half-slot. The ports on the 10 Gigabit Ethernet module is dual Small Form-Factor Pluggable and Small Form-Factor Pluggable Plus (SFP/SFP+) ports that support both 1 Gigabit Ethernet SFPs and 10 Gigabit Ethernet SFP+ modules.
