Zones' Near-Term and Net-Zero Emission Reduction Targets Validated by the SBTi
Reinforces Zones' Commitment as a Trusted Sustainability Partner
Auburn, WA – July 24, 2025 – Zones, a global provider of end-to-end IT solutions, today announced that its greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction targets have been officially validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). This milestone underscores Zones' commitment to environmental leadership while also enhancing the value Zones delivers to partners and customers who are navigating an increasingly sustainability-driven business environment.
With this validation, Zones joins an elite group of organizations worldwide whose emissions targets align with the Paris Agreement goal to limit global warming to 1.5°C. Zones' approved targets span both near-term and long-term goals, reinforcing a full-spectrum strategy that supports sustainable innovation across its global ecosystem.
According to Firoz Lalji, Chairman & CEO of Zones, "By aligning our climate goals with the most rigorous scientific benchmarks, we're reinforcing our long-term resilience, creating shared value, and equipping our partners and customers with a global IT solutions provider they can count on to lead with purpose and performance."
Zones GHG reduction targets are as follows:
Near-term Targets:
- Reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 57.3% by 2030 from a 2019 base year
- Reduce absolute scope 3 GHG emissions by 46.2% within the same timeframe
Long-term Targets:
- Reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 90% by 2050 from a 2019 base year
- Reduce absolute scope 3 GHG emissions by 90% within the same timeframe
- Achieve net-zero emissions across the value chain by 2050
"The validation empowers Zones' partners and customers to confidently collaborate with a company that about its sustainability efforts then backs it with science," added Tom Besselman, Senior Vice President, Solutions and Services at Zones. "As more organizations integrate Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) into procurement and operations, aligning with a verified, sustainability-minded technology partner definitely becomes a strategic advantage."
